II was the hat designer on Bucknell's production of Blue Stockings. I created the pattern and cut the velvet fabric for the covering. The base is made of buckram, and I instructed one of our student workers on how to stretch and form the base.  She was able to use the velvet to cover the form. I pleated the fabric for the underside of the brim and finished the hat with handmade band, and trimmed with feathers and artificial flowers.
